Rutlands Liquid Creosote Remover is great for use in fireboxes and spot treatment in stoves. It is also recommended for pellet stoves. It is safe for use in myriad types of fireplace inserts, chimneys, wood stoves and air tight stoves. It can also be used in free-burning fire places and is reported not to cause any harm to catalytic converters. The liquid creosote remover is designed to penetrate sticky tar-like creosote then turn it to a loose powder that resembles ash and is non-adhering which can be easily brushed away. It is recommended for everyday use and is activated at 265°F.
